TUGHE
TUGHE abbreviates the words: “Tanzania Union of Government and Health Employees”. This is a trade Union which represents workers from the Central Government (Tanzania Mainland) and all Health Employees from Government and Private Institutions.
The Origin of TUGHE and its Objectives
The Tanzania Union of Government and Health Employees (TUGHE) was formed and inaugurated in 1994 after a General meeting of Representatives from Central Government and Health Sector on 9th to 10th of 1994 at Ardhi Institute in Dar es Salaam.
With one voice, the representatives agreed to join their efforts together in safe guarding the interests of Workers within their Sectors regarding their Employment rights
Leadership in TUGHE
Leaders in Trade Union are elected or selected according to its Constitution. TUGHE Constitution requires all Executive leaders and other workers be selected through interview and be employed. These are Regional Secretaries, Personal Secretaries, Accountants, Office attendants and Drivers.
All the other leaders, National Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, General Secretary, National Executive Members, Regional Chairpersons, Regional Executive Committee Members, Women Committee Leaders at all Levels, Branch Chairperson, Branch Secretary and Branch Committee Members are elected according to the requirement of The Constitution. The elected leader serves for a term of five years and can be re-elected.

- Regional Level
- National Level
Leaders in Branch level are:
- Branch Chairperson
- Branch Secretary
- Branch Committee members
- Branch Women Committee member
Leaders in Regional Level are:
- Regional Chairperson
- Regional Secretary
- Regional Executive Committee Members - 6
- Regional Women Committee Members
- Regional representative to the National Council - 1
- Representatives to the National General Assembly - 4
Leaders in Regional Level are:
- National Chairperson
- General Secretary assisted by two Deputy General Secretaries
- Vice National Chairperson
- Members of National Executive Committee (KUBK) - 10
